Food for Thought with Dr. Renya Ramirez: Native Feminisms

Dr. Ramirez will discuss Native feminisms and how Native women scholars and activists are fighting against colonization, sexism, patriarchy and oppression. Reyna will highlight Sarah Deer, a Muscogee lawyer, activist, and scholar who is currently fighting against violence against indigenous women. Reyna is enrolled in the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska. Her research interests include Ho-chunk biography, Urban Native Americans, transnationalism, gender, cultural citizenship, and anti-racist education.
